Job summary

TWG Engineering, part of The Will Group, is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations in Shorewood, IL. You will manage daily field activities, ensure data quality, and mentor a survey team, delivering precise survey data for infrastructure projects.

The role requires strong leadership, at least five years of crew chief experience, and proficiency with Trimble GPS and robotic total stations. Illinois licensing and a valid driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
• Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and field procedures.
• Experience with Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Topographic Surveys.
• Proficiency using Trimble GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors.
• Ability to interpret plats, legal descriptions, and engineering drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations under the direction of a Licensed Professional Surveyor (PLS).
• Oversee survey crews, ensure quality and accuracy, and safely execute projects from start to finish.
• Perform and oversee Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Topographic and Route Surveys.
• Coordinate daily field activities and project schedules.
• Train and mentor survey technicians.
• Communicate with project managers, contractors, property owners, and clients.
