Job description

Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified Survey Crew Chief to join our Williston or Dickinson, North Dakota team. The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for conducting field survey activities, including design and construction surveys for land development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure projects. This is a full-time benefited position with overtime pay, a company-provided vehicle for business use and survey equipment, safety gear, and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with Lead Surveyor to maintain accurate project records.
2. Work extended hours at road construction sites, performing construction staking and quantity surveys.
3. Coordinate with Civil Science Construction Inspection team to complete survey requests accurately and promptly.
4. Gather field survey data using conventional and GPS methods.
5. Operate and maintain survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
6. Focus on projects in the Dickinson area, with potential involvement in other regions.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
2. Proficiency with total station (conventional and robotic) and GPS (RTK, VRS, static) instruments.
3. Experience in boundary, topographic, control surveys, and construction staking for site development.
4. Commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations.
5. Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
6. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College training or LSIT certification is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent, with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with transportation projects.
• Experience with Trimble equipment, laser scanning, GPS data processing, OPENROADS, or Civil3D.
