Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews on ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, boundary and topographic work, and construction layout in the Greenville, SC area.

The role involves independent work and collaboration with crew members under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of GPS devices, data collectors and Total Station.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment in field conditions.
• Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
• Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and boundary/topographic surveys.
• Familiarity with civil engineering concepts and construction plans.
• Understanding of safe workplace practices in surveying.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Trimble GPS, total stations, scanners and UAVs to collect survey data.
• Maintain clear field notes, diagrams and organized data files.
• Lead field crew operations and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS and construction layout surveys as assigned.
• Apply surveying principles and CAD/CAM knowledge in project documentation.

As a Survey Crew Chief for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work both independently as well as with crew members conducting the field survey work relating to ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary, topographic, route surveys, and construction layout under the responsible charge of the Registered Professional Surveyor. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the field crew using standard operating procedures and current health and safety standards. The daily duties include the operation of, Trimble GPS, total stations, scanners and UAVs to accurately collect relevant data in a concise manner. Other duties include detailed notes, diagrams and file management of collected data.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of survey crew chief experience;
• Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station;
• Work requires independent judgment and initiative;
• Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying;
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting;
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction;
• Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices;
• Albility to operate motorized equipment;
• Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions;
• Valid Driver's License.
