We are currently seeking a motivated Survey Crew Chief to support our East Gulf Region. The position is based in Alabama or Tennessee, or candidates must be willing to relocate to one of our offices in these states.

The Survey Crew Chief reports to the Survey Project Manager. This role requires overnight travel and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Applicants must pass a drug and background check to obtain security badge clearance.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supervising a crew conducting field surveys as defined by the project manager
• Performing survey tasks independently with minimal supervision
• Communicating effectively with client representatives, governing agents, and public stakeholders; keeping them informed of progress and issues, and notifying upon job completion
• Updating the project manager on progress, issues, client requests, and completion status

What you need to have:

• At least 5 years of experience on a survey crew with leadership capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in construction staking, boundary, and topographic surveys
• Experience in construction and boundary surveys
• Gas pipeline surveying experience
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
• Characteristics of a successful team member include being a brand ambassador, self-motivated, proactive, communicative, and capable of multitasking
