A growing land surveying firm in Southeast Michigan seeks a full-time Crew Chief with 3-5 years of experience in surveying, particularly in boundary retracement and construction staking. The ideal candidate will work independently, lead a survey crew, and leverage skills with Trimble and AutoCAD technologies to fulfill diverse surveying projects effectively.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of surveying experience, preferably in boundary retracement and construction staking.
• Proficient with Trimble Access for robotic and GPS equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys.
• Collect survey data per client specifications and work plans.
• Supervise and assist other members of the survey crew.

Summary: Core Land Consulting is a small but growing professional land surveying company located in Southeast Michigan. We are looking to add a full-time, dedicated, and ambitious person to assist in our growth objectives. Core Land Consulting performs all types of surveying projects with a focus on construction staking and ALTA surveys. Prior field experience in these areas is required. Previous experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Job Requirements:

• Strong work ethic, dependable and motivated.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work primarily in the field on control, boundary, topographic, and construction stakeout surveys.
• Collect survey data in accordance with industry and client specifications, scopes of work, and work plans.
• Perform mathematical calculations and field checking/staking.
• Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
• Supervise and assist other members of the survey crew.
• Coordinate daily with office staff.
• Continuously learn new techniques and processes.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of surveying experience, preferably in boundary retracement and construction staking.
• Proficient with Trimble Access software for Trimble TSC7, S7, and R12 equipment.
• Ability to write legibly and convey technical information effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Crew Chief.
• Experience in construction staking.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work overtime.
• Ability to work outdoors, stand, walk, lift, and carry equipment in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to work as a one-person crew using robotic and GPS equipment.
