Responsibilities
- Commute to and from sites daily using a company-provided truck.
- Perform survey activities including leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and profile and cross-section surveys.
- Set up, adjust, and operate Trimble survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, and GPS devices.
- Measure distances, angles, and elevations for staking purposes.
- Review and adjust survey field calculations as needed.
- Establish and locate vertical and horizontal control points.
- Use Trimble equipment to measure utility points, including curb and gutter, water and sewer lines, storm drains, and paving.
- Prepare accurate field notes and complete as-built drawings.
- Maintain work-issued vehicles, laptops, and survey equipment.
- Follow Atwell's safety protocols.
- Read and interpret engineering plans.
- Assist with training new hires, career planning, and professional development.
- Motivate and reward team members through spot bonuses and peer recognition.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief, performing boundary, ALTA, as-built, and construction staking surveys.
- Effective communication skills with contractors, inspectors, and team leaders.
- Experience with Trimble equipment.
