Qualifications

  • 5+ years in land surveying, with 2+ years in a lead field role.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • NSPS Certified or LSIT required; RLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily activities of the survey crew in the field.
  • Operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
  • Ensure survey data quality and field notes are accurate.
  • Interpret construction plans and boundary documents.
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Direct daily activities of the survey crew in the field.
  • Operate GPS, total stations, and data collectors to gather accurate field data.
  • Ensure survey data quality and field notes are complete and accurate.
  • Interpret construction plans, boundary documents, and topographic mapping.
  • Determine project team makeup and assign workloads.
  • Conduct project kick‑off meetings to communicate and obtain agreement on project schedules.
  • Communicate daily with office staff and project managers.Maintain safety standards and promote a safety‑first crew environment.
  • Train junior crew members and support their development.
  • Manage and maintain survey equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor and follow up on client invoicing and payments.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience: 5+ years in land surveying, with 2+ years in a lead field role.
  • Skills: Strong communication, field problem‑solving, and team leadership skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Trimble or Leica systems and data collection software.
  • Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
Education and Experience
  • Degree: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or technical degree a plus.
  • Certification: Required NSPS Certified or LSIT; Preferred RLS.
Physical Requirements
  • General: Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting: Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
