Job summary

DCCM is seeking a Crew Chief to supervise field survey operations across various sites in Texas. You will oversee field crews, ensure QA/QC, and support engineering design duties. Your data processing skills will backfieldwork and daily crew leadership.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of survey crew chief experience, a valid driver's license, and proficiency with TXDOT standards. Strong communication and project-management capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of survey crew chief experience including land boundary and topographic surveying.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient with TXDOT Standards/Code lists and other survey requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Company’s field survey team in the field and supervises additional staff members assisting in survey assignments.
  • Performs ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Construction Staking and Transportation projects for both public and private clients.
  • Performs complex surveying calculations using engineering calculator, laptop computer, and coordinate geometry software.
  • Adheres to QA/QC procedures and notetaking.
  • Follows work orders from project managers.
  • Proficiency with Leica GPS and Robotic Total Stations.
  • Drives Company vehicle to and from worksites.
  • Reviews and follows project scope, keeping all project information and electronic files well organized.
  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, be diligent in field procedures and always maintain company standards.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Crew Chief to join our Survey team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing survey operations at various sites, ensuring quality checks, and assisting with engineering design duties. Your expertise in data processing and analysis will be essential in supporting fieldwork and leading the survey crew.
