Qualifications

  • 2+ years of survey drafting or survey technician experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience processing survey field data.
  • Familiarity with boundary surveys, plats, legal descriptions, and survey calculations.
  • Experience with Trimble or similar survey equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across field and office teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, easement, and construction survey drawings using Civil 3D.
  • Process and analyze field data from total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors.
  • Assist with boundary research, deed review, and public record analysis.
  • Prepare plats, easement exhibits, and legal descriptions under RPLS supervision.
  • Perform survey calculations, closures, and staking computations.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings and survey deliverables.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, project managers, and field crews.
  • Provide occasional field support for survey projects as needed.

About This Role

Our client, a well-established civil engineering and land surveying firm in Central Texas, is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to support survey projects from field data processing through final deliverables. This role offers a blend of CAD drafting, boundary research, and occasional field support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and practical sides of surveying.

What You’ll Do
