Job description

Job Title: CAD Technician

As the CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing CAD deliverables and possess knowledge of surveying and mapping principles. Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, Utility, and Scan Extraction is ideal.

Primary Responsibilities

• Stay updated with current technology and software changes.
• Perform calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
• Analyze deeds and research materials for survey production.
• Use NCDOT or DRMP checklists throughout each project.
• Extract linework and features from point clouds using TopoDot software.
• Show willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• NCDOT experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive technical knowledge of CADD systems, including MicroStation, Geopak, ORD, Civil 3D, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to project success.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
