Job Description
THIS OPPORTUNITY: As a CAD Specialist specializing in land surveying at Egis U.S., you will support land surveyors and field crews in developing, modifying, and optimizing CAD drawings for various projects including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Location Control Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, R/W staking, and other road, bridge, and water resource projects. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and knowledge of land surveying principles will be crucial for project success.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. CAD Design: Convert field data into accurate CAD drawings for land surveying projects.
  2. Data Collection: Collaborate with project managers and land surveyors to gather and organize data and project requirements.
  3. Drafting Standards: Ensure CAD drawings meet company standards, industry best practices, and regulations.
  4. Quality Control: Review CAD drawings for errors and inconsistencies, maintaining high standards.
  5. Software Expertise: Keep up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technologies.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with surveyors and specialists to align CAD work with project goals.
  7. Compliance: Ensure all CAD work complies with relevant codes and standards.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
  • Associate's degree in Drafting and Design or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2018-2023, including processing field data and creating topographic drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microstation products (InRoads, Open Roads Designer) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with courthouse research, deeds, and surveys is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn on the job.
