Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Survey Technician to support survey projects in Austin, TX. You will perform tasks with guidance from the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor, and complete drawings and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities include data verification, field packages, exhibits, and occasional field checks. Experience with MicroStation is a plus, and strong communication helps you succeed in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in surveying or related field required.
• 2+ years of experience as a survey technician or related role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey tasks with minimal guidance from PM and Project Surveyor.
• Create intermediate drawings and calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Review data for accuracy before submission.
• Prepare field packages, legal descriptions and exhibits.
• Conduct occasional field checks and feedback to field crews.
• Compile and manipulate survey data for reports and deliverables.
• Assist with deed research, base maps, and final drawings.
