Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers seeks a survey technician to provide technical and office support for survey projects in Austin, TX. You will assist in preparing deliverables and take on increasing responsibility for independent tasks.

Responsibilities include performing survey tasks with minimal guidance, drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D, reviewing data for accuracy, preparing field packages, and assisting with deed research and base maps. Occasional field checks and data analysis will be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a survey technician or related role.
• Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; initiative and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey tasks with minimal guidance from the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor.
• Complete intermediate-level drawings and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Review and verify the accuracy of data before submitting for review.
• Prepare detailed field packages, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
• Conduct occasional field checks and provide feedback to field crews.
• Compile, analyze, and manipulate survey data for reports and deliverables.
• Assist with deed research and abstracting, creating base maps, and processing data into final drawings.
