Job summary

Rick Engineering Company (RICK) seeks a Survey Analyst in Arvada, Colorado, to work on landmark projects along the Front Range. You will review records, retrace easements, and prepare CAD drawings to support project goals.

You will collaborate with engineers and clients to meet timelines and budgets, ensure compliance, and produce accurate calculations. Required: 3+ years in surveying and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and other relevant software such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, boundary analysis, coordinate geometry, and construction staking techniques.
• Familiarity with processing submittals to city, county, and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform research of surveying and mapping records from different sources.
• Review title report documents, analyze deeds, and retrace easements.
• Prepare and analyze survey-related CAD drawings (boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision).
• Assist in preparing legal descriptions, plats, and exhibits.
• Post processing of survey data and quality control checks.
• Perform boundary calculations, COGO, and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with project managers to meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and survey regulations.
• Communicate with field staff, engineers, and clients to clarify requirements.

Essential Tasks And Responsibilities

• Perform research of surveying and mapping records from different sources,
• Review title report documents, analyze deeds, and retrace easements.
• Prepare and analyze survey-related CAD drawings, including boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision maps, and as-built surveys.
• Assist in the preparation of legal descriptions, plats, and exhibits as required for various project types.
• Post processing of survey data and perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform calculations for boundary analysis, and other survey tasks using Civil 3D and TBC.
• Conduct closure calculations, coordinate geometry (COGO) computations, and resolve discrepancies in field data.
• Collaborate with survey project managers to ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and survey regulations.
• Communicate effectively with field staff, engineers, and clients to clarify survey requirements and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. LSI is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and other relevant software such as Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, boundary analysis, coordinate geometry, and construction staking techniques.
• Familiarity with processing submittals to city, county, and public agencies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, and perform accurate and precise calculations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and clients.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Colorado land use laws, regulations, and survey standards.
• Experience in preparing legal descriptions, plats, and other deliverables for public and private sector projects.
• Previous field experience as a survey crew member/crew chief is a plus.
