Job summary

Rail City Casino is seeking a Surveillance Operator to sustain a covert and proactive surveillance program that protects and enhances casino operations. You will perform duties in line with company policies and procedures and rely on thorough knowledge of casino operations.

• Six months of previous Surveillance or gaming experience.
• Be at least twenty-one years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a high degree of working knowledge of casino operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work any day of the week and any shift, including unscheduled shifts on short notice.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
• High degree of personal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Complete reviews and observations in a timely manner with accuracy, including who, what, when, where and why.
• Maintain daily logs and reports with precise details.
• Detect and report illegal or unusual activities to the surveillance manager or shift supervisor.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Respond calmly in crisis and highly stressful situations.
• Work independently and in a group; maintain confidentiality.
• Conduct clandestine surveillance of casino and slot operations, cashiers cage, and count activities.
• Operate CCTV, video recording devices, remote control devices, and computers (MS Word and Excel).
• Proactively notify management of gaming, procedural and policy violations.

Responsible for providing and maintaining a covert and proactive Surveillance operation which protects and enhances the overall operations of the company. Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of all applicable casino operations. Minimum of six months previous Surveillance or gaming experience. Be at least twenty-one years of age, with high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a high degree of working knowledge of casino operations. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift and willing to work unscheduled shifts on short notice. Must have basic computer operational skills and be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. This skilled position requires a high degree of personal integrity.

Complete reviews and observations in a timely manner with accuracy. Daily Log entries and reports are to be precise including who, what, when, where and why.

Detect and report any illegal or unusual activities to the surveillance manager and/or shift supervisor.

Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Conduct clandestine surveillance of overall casino and slot operations, cashiers cage, count activities, etc.

Ensure adherence to and perform all duties as required by departmental manual, standards and procedures.

Operate closed circuit television, video recording devices, remote control devices, and computers using MS Word and Excel.

Thorough knowledge of gaming regulations, casino games and house gaming rules.

Proactively notify management of any gaming, procedural and policy violations.

Demonstrate impartiality and confidentiality of all actions and behaviors observed.

Maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.

Work Environment and ADA Requirements:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry. Must be able to stoop, bend and reach. Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. When on casino floor, must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust. Must be able to reach 6 feet into the air. Must be able to hold 15 lbs. with outstretched arms.
