Job summary

Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, MD is seeking a Surveillance Operator for the Grave Shift (11:45 PM – 7:45 AM). This full-time role includes medical, paid sick time, paid vacation, paid personal time, holiday pay and 401k options.

The pay rate is $16.50 per hour. You will monitor CCTV, respond to surveillance requests, and document violations with accuracy while ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in casino surveillance preferred.
• Vision correctable to 20/20.
• Must read, write, speak English sufficiently to perform the functions.
• Ability to follow written, verbal directions and guidance.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with guests and staff.
• Must obtain and keep a Maryland Lottery license.

Responsibilities

• Responds to calls requesting surveillance coverage.
• Operates CCTV system to observe, report and record activities.
• Communicates violations to supervisors with timely, detailed documentation.
• Prepares additional surveillance reports as needed.
• Conducts tape reviews as assigned.
• Ensures compliance with State Lottery Regulations, Internal Controls and company policies.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations and teamwork.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responds to calls requesting the need for surveillance coverage.
• Conducts surveillance through the CCTV system utilizing the necessary equipment to observe, report and record procedural violations and unusual activities.
• Communicates violations in a timely manner to appropriate supervisory personnel and follows up with accurate and detailed documentation.
• Prepares additional reports as needed.
• Conducts tape reviews as assigned.
• Responsible for compliance with State Lottery Regulations, Internal Controls and company Policies & Procedures.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Previous experience in casino surveillance preferred.
• Vision must be correctable to 20/20.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time without difficulty.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
