Job summary

Terrance Private Investigator & Associates is seeking an Equipment & Technology Specialist to own the surveillance equipment program end to end across markets, including procurement, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and recovery. The role is based at a primary office with periodic travel for equipment audits and investigator support.

Requires hands-on experience with camera systems, video handling, and IT support; travel may be required and occasional after-hours work is expected to

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in equipment management or related technical field.
• Proficiency with professional camera and camcorder systems, including night-vision capabilities.
• Knowledge of digital evidence handling, metadata, and secure storage.
• Experience supporting business software platforms and mobile device fleets.
• Strong asset tracking and inventory discipline.
• Ability to troubleshoot remotely with field users.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own the firm’s surveillance equipment inventory across markets, tagging and tracking.
• Source, evaluate, and procure cameras, covert gear, GPS units, and related accessories.
• Configure equipment for deployment, ensuring readiness and proper formatting.
• Maintain and repair equipment; manage warranties and vendor repairs.
• Diagnose equipment failures and provide live troubleshooting during surveillance.
• Administer the digital evidence pipeline and secure storage.
• Support chain of custody documentation for digital media and equipment.
• Provide first-line technical support for case management platform and devices.
• Maintain data security protocols and access controls.
• Onboard/offboard investigators with equipment and credentials.
• Train investigators on equipment operation and create quick-reference guides.
