Surveillance Agent I
Job Description
The Surveillance Agent I works in a secure, dedicated observation room. They protect company assets and maintain the integrity of gaming and non-gaming operations. This entry-level role reports directly to the Surveillance Manager and works alongside Security personnel, management teams, and law enforcement agencies when necessary. The Surveillance Agent I is responsible for observing, documenting, and reporting activities throughout the property while ensuring compliance with all applicable gaming regulations, company policies, and departmental procedures.

Responsibilities
- Observe gaming tables, slot operations, cashiers' cages, vaults, count rooms, and other designated areas through surveillance equipment to identify suspicious, irregular, unsafe, or illegal activities.
- Monitor gaming and non-gaming operations to protect company assets and maintain operational integrity.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal gaming regulations, company policies, departmental procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential surveillance logs, observations, equipment inspections, and incident documentation.
- Prepare clear, objective, and detailed verbal and written reports regarding accidents, disturbances, suspicious activity, policy violations, and other security-related incidents.
- Immediately notify supervisors of significant incidents, policy violations, operational concerns, or potential risks to guests, team members, or company assets.
- Assist management with investigations involving guests, team members, operational concerns, and disputes through the review and analysis of recorded video and audio evidence.
- Work cooperatively with Security, Operations, Management, and law enforcement personnel as needed during investigations or incidents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding surveillance observations, investigations, recordings, reports, and any sensitive company information.
- Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and attention to detail while performing surveillance duties.
- Complete all other duties assigned by management.
Education
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Criminal justice coursework, surveillance training, or related education preferred.
Licensing & Eligibility
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully pass all required background investigations.
- Must successfully complete required fingerprinting procedures.
- Must obtain and maintain all required gaming licenses, registrations, permits, and approvals.
- Clean criminal history required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn surveillance systems and related software.
- Strong observation, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to recognize irregular patterns or behaviors.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate, objective, and detailed reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Ability to learn and understand table game procedures, gaming regulations, cheating methods, and surveillance techniques.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements
- Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, radios, surveillance systems, and monitoring equipment as needed.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while continuously monitoring multiple surveillance screens and video feeds.
- Ability to maintain visual concentration and attention to detail for prolonged periods of time.
- Work primarily in a secure, indoor, climate-controlled surveillance room.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; employees may be exposed to casino noise during property walkthroughs or investigations.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and varying temperature conditions.
- May be exposed to tobacco smoke while on the casino floor or conducting investigations.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as necessary.
- Must be available to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other operationally required schedules.
