Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Surveillance Agent II to safeguard assets, gaming integrity, and regulatory compliance through expert monitoring of live and recorded footage. You will analyze CCTV, identify risks, and document findings for management and regulators.

You will support investigations, audits, and risk mitigation while maintaining strict confidentiality and working with security teams across the property.

Surveillance Agent II

Job Description

The Surveillance Agent II safeguards company assets, gaming integrity, and regulatory compliance through vigilant electronic monitoring and advanced investigative techniques. This position is responsible for actively analyzing live and recorded surveillance footage to identify sophisticated cheating methods, advantage play, internal theft, suspicious financial activity, and other threats to the operation. The Surveillance Agent II supports operational integrity through proactive monitoring, investigative reviews, regulatory audits, and surveillance system oversight.

Location

In-person in Las Vegas, NV, 89109: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

Responsibilities

• Analyze real-time and recorded surveillance footage throughout gaming areas, including table games, slot operations, cash rooms, and public spaces using CCTV and advanced PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) camera systems.


• Monitor casino operations to protect company assets and ensure gaming integrity.


• Detect irregular activity, suspicious financial transactions, policy violations, advantage play, cheating schemes, internal theft, collusion, card counting, and device tampering.


• Audit gaming operations and casino activities for compliance with Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), state gaming regulations, federal requirements, and company policies.


• Conduct detailed investigations involving guest disputes, employee concerns, security incidents, financial discrepancies, and operational risks through the review of recorded surveillance footage.


• Prepare thorough, factual, and legally compliant reports, investigative summaries, evidence documentation, and case logs for management, regulatory agencies, or law enforcement when appropriate.


• Perform routine diagnostic checks of surveillance hardware, software, video management systems, access control systems, and related equipment.


• Immediately report equipment failures, security vulnerabilities, operational concerns, or system malfunctions to management.


• Assist management, Security, and other operational departments with investigations and risk mitigation efforts.


• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding surveillance observations, investigations, recordings, reports, and sensitive company information.


• Complete all other duties assigned by management.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in casino surveillance, table games operations, asset protection, loss prevention, or a related field preferred.


• Experience conducting investigations, surveillance reviews, and compliance monitoring preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

Licensing & Eligibility

• Must be at least 21 years of age.


• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain all required gaming registrations, licenses, permits, and approvals.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficiency with video management systems (VMS), surveillance technology, database systems, and tracking software.


• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.


• Thorough understanding of casino game protection techniques and gaming operations.


• Knowledge of table game procedures, game protection standards, layout strategies, and payout verification methods.


• Ability to identify suspicious activity, fraud indicators, operational risks, and regulatory concerns.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce accurate investigative reports.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Physical Requirements

• Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, radios, surveillance systems, and monitoring equipment.


• Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring multiple surveillance screens and computer terminals.


• Ability to maintain continuous visual concentration and attention to detail while reviewing live and recorded surveillance footage.


• Work primarily within a secure, closed, climate-controlled Surveillance Room.


• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


• Occasionally exposed to varying temperature conditions when moving throughout the property.


• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as necessary.


• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and other operationally required schedules supporting 24/7 casino operations.
