Job summary

The State of South Carolina’s Department of Administration invites applications for a Supply Manager I. This role manages the Surplus Property dispatching and vehicle fleet maintenance, operating trucks to transport property from federal installations and state entities.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, loading/unloading, and coordination across Surplus Property operations. Requires a high school diploma, 3 years tractor-trailer experience, and a valid SC CDL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3 years of experience driving tractor trailers.
• Valid South Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor and trailer from Surplus Property to federal installations and state agencies, maintain schedule for collections, and manage inventory.
• Regularly inspect all equipment for cleanliness and perform remedial repairs.
• Assist in loading/unloading truck to meet schedules and handle driver paperwork.
• Learn and implement scrap metal procedures to support operations as needed.
• Keep tractors and trailers in safe, clean condition and perform pre/post trip inspections.
• Assist in other Surplus Property areas including screening, sales, and transportation of state vehicles; assist with pricing and processing of property for agencies.
• Stay updated on highway and ICC regulations applicable to SC and neighboring states.
