VCA Fischer Animal Hospital in Toms River, NJ is seeking a Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our team. This full-time role focuses on anesthesia, surgical preparation, and monitoring, working closely with veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care from admission through recovery.

You will assist with procedures, manage IV catheters, perform dental radiographs, collect lab samples, and educate clients on care plans.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT certification is required or expected.
• Strong technical and clinical skills with a focus on surgical support.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; commitment to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with primary care and surgical procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications and treatments.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia.
• Assist with dental procedures, including dental radiographs and cleanings.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Provide compassionate patient care and client support.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate with the team.
• Keep treatment and surgical areas clean and organized.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Educate clients on care plans and follow-up.
