Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Carolina is hiring a Surgery Veterinary Technician to split time between our Cary and Raleigh Hospitals. The role focuses on anesthesia, analgesia, and surgical support within a fast-paced, collaborative specialty practice.

You will assist in procedures, monitor anesthesia, perform IV catheter placement, and manage pre- and post-operative care, while advancing your skills through our leveling system and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary anesthesia preferred.
• VTS credentialing considered with compensation based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient procedures with anesthesia and analgesia protocols.
• Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot complications, and intervene as needed.
• Perform IV catheter placement and endotracheal intubation.
• Conduct physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Understand normal parameters and alert doctor to abnormalities.
• Set up IV fluids and CRIs.
• Expand knowledge with advanced anesthetic skills as you grow.
• Operate IV fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
• Maintain accurate medical math and records.
• Lead patient through pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care.
• Manage appointments, histories, invoicing, and discharges.
