Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care within a team.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Unit-specific certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with interprofessional team, patient, family to support care delivery and flow.
• Performs direct/indirect patient care under supervision, increasing competency.
• Expands range of care activities per training and unit needs.
• Escalates concerns with changes in patient condition to licensed staff.
• Supports safety initiatives by following protocols and identifying risks.
• Assists in care coordination and patient throughput for efficient units.
• Maintains certifications and ongoing skill development.
• Mentors newer staff in daily tasks without formal supervision.
• Maintains supplies and readiness of clinical environment.
