Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Surgery department in Chicago, IL. This full-time role shares administrative responsibility with the unit Director and leads nursing staff during day shift.

The position requires an active RN license, BSN preferred, and BLS/ACLS on hire. Supervisory experience and OR familiarity are highly valued as you ensure efficient department operations and patient care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS and ACLS required on hire and maintain current.
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional certification within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS on hire and maintain current preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in supervisory/leadership role preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years OR experience preferred.
• Sedation monitoring competency within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for department service functions.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement activities.
• Oversees orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians and administration both written and verbal.
• Responsible for quality of staff and functions during shift.
• Directs, supervises and evaluates personnel for daily operations of the unit.
• Performs direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
• Assess care and direct staff to modify plan of care as needed.
