Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a Unit Clerk Associate to support the East Hospital Tower 9 Surgical unit, Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM. The UCA coordinates the Unit Communication Center, facilitates intra- and interdepartmental communications, and manages health care information and records.

Under the direction of the RN in charge, the UCA provides services that support excellent patient care, protects patient privacy, and helps integrate new information

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Unit Communication Center through issue identification and prioritization.
• Manage intra- and interdepartmental communications for the patient care team.
• Maintain health care information and records with patient privacy in mind.
• Provide support to the unit with information technology and equipment.
