Qualifications

• Requires current Texas Surgical Technology practice status per Texas House Bill 643-Chapter 259.
• Must hold and maintain certification as a surgical technologist by a recognized certifying body.
• CPR certification from AHA/Red Cross/MTN is required.

Responsibilities

• Orient new staff and students to department policies, safety precautions, and emergency protocols.
• Assigns cases to orientees and monitors progress throughout shifts.
• Maintains professional behavior and acts as a role model for learners and staff.
• Promotes patient safety and a positive learning environment.
• Provides regular feedback to RN Educators and unit managers to ensure effective coordination.
