Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist to perform in the Operating Room, ensuring instrument availability and coordinating patient care with the surgical team. Strong emphasis on patient rights, confidentiality, and alignment with Mercy Service Standards.

Education includes HS Diploma or GED, with preferred postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology; BLS certification is required.

• Maintains accountability for instrument provision and supports care of the surgical patient.
• Coordinates patient care with other team members while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications (Level IV) Experienced/Complex/Routine

Education: HS Diploma or GED.

Licensure: Surgical Technology experience or Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.

Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.

Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.

Preferred Education: Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program.

Preferred Licensure - Certification: Surgical Technology Certification preferred.
