Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support in the Operating Room, maintaining accountability for sterile instruments and assisting the surgical team. You will coordinate perioperative care, uphold patient rights and confidentiality, and perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values and Service Standards.

Minimum qualifications include HS Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and English proficiency; favorable candidates have a surgical technology credential or associate degree and

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Surgical Technology experience or degree/certification from an accredited program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• English language proficiency (written and spoken) required.

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications (Level IV) Experienced/Complex/Routine

• Education: HS Diploma or GED.
• Licensure: Surgical Technology experience or Graduate with a Degree in Surgical Technology or completion certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
• Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
• Preferred Education: Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Preferred Licensure - Certification: Surgical Technology Certification preferred.
