Job summary

GlobalPoint HC is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist during procedures, maintain a sterile field, and ensure all equipment is ready and functioning. The role includes scrubbing duties and collaboration with the operative team to support sports medicine and trauma cases.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, OR experience or training, and BLS certification. Housing may be available, and shifts are 12 hours with varied day/evening hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year experience in operating room as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technician training required.
• Certification or eligible for certification preferred.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field.
• Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening.
• Anticipates the need for equipment and supplies before the case begins.
• Assures all equipment is functioning before use.
• Operates and maintains mechanical, electrical, and air powered equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the special needs, techniques, and requirements of the individual surgeon.
• Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence of a sales representative including sports medicine and trauma.
• Assists RN with completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during procedure.
• Collects specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with surgeon.
