Job summary

UCSF Health seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of surgical supplies and equipment and to function as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In the UCSF Stanyan Operating Room, opportunities span multiple specialties.

The candidate must hold current AHA CPR certification for healthcare providers, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be a graduate of a surgical technologist program or have equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification for healthcare providers is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Operating Room Details

UCSF Stanyan Operating Room (OR) consists of 8 surgical suites for inpatient and outpatient surgeries. Services include, but are not limited to: Orthopedics, General, Ophthalmology, Plastics, Pain Service, General Surgery, Vascular, Urology, Podiatry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Serve as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Maintain knowledge and skills essential to job performance and adhere to behavioral standards.
• Account for work performance to the Nurse Service Supervisor.

Qualifications – Required

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification for healthcare providers.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility to work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• Scrub experience in Ophthalmology, OHNS, Robotics, Urology, Gynecology, OMFS, Plastics.

License/Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification for healthcare providers.
