Job summary

Bronson Battle Creek Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the OR team and support safe, efficient patient care. You will work with RN circulators, surgeons and staff to prepare and maintain the sterile field and assist during procedures.

The position requires a high school diploma/GED with accredited surgical technologist training; certification is preferred and orientation with an OR preceptor is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and accredited surgical technologist training.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• On-the-job orientation from a qualified OR preceptor is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret data from equipment and computer.
• Protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Provide positive customer service.
• Manage mental/visual fatigue from diverse duties and deadlines.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; assist with heavier tasks as needed.
• Assess case cart, identify missing equipment, and arrange supplies.
• Anticipate physicians' needs based on procedure and preferences.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Update case information and document changes in records.
• Maintain proper use of equipment and prevent misuse by others.
• Anticipate needs of operative field and team; take appropriate actions.
• BLS certification required by completion of orientation.
