Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for patients of all ages.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with CST certification and BLS. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment with diverse procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform scrub duties across multiple specialties; advanced STII roles may include spinal fusions.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in handling equipment and positioning patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field before and during procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on procedure and surgeon preferences.
• Ensure all instruments and equipment are accounted for, sterilized, and functioning properly.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to surgical team requests quickly and accurately.
• Assist with positioning devices, specialty equipment, and surgical implants.
• Participate in specialized surgical services, including taking call for specialty areas.
• Continuously evaluate case details and contribute updates to preference cards and procedure protocols.
