Job description

Responsibilities

1. Assist surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating, and passing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, and provide retraction under the surgeon's direction.
2. Maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique during all operative procedures, including surgical attire, hand scrubbing, gowning, gloving, boundary management between sterile and non-sterile areas, and traffic control.
3. Identify breaches in aseptic technique and implement corrective interventions.
4. Perform all phases of reprocessing, including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and resolving issues related to parameter failures.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• Completion of Certification Examination within one year of employment, with ongoing certification maintenance.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
