Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Driver's License required.
• Eligibility for Surgical Technologist Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery.
• Assist with draping patients and preparing surgical sites.
• Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper handling of instruments.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
• Handle specimens according to facility policy.
• Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures.
• Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly.
• Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Document surgical case information as required.
