Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Washington state is seeking a Surgical Tech to join our perioperative team. You will support safe, efficient procedures by preparing the OR, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field under the supervision of surgeons and nurses.

You will count items, handle specimens, assist with patient positioning, and adhere to aseptic techniques, demonstrating strong communication and a calm demeanor in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current registration with the State of Washington as a Surgical Technician.
• Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to take night and/or weekend call.
• A working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Understanding of instrumentation and equipment, and skill in establishing and maintaining a sterile field.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to act as a member of the team and anticipate needs of a surgeon and patient.
• Must be able to operate in emergency and stressful situations.
• Ability to independently lift up to 20 pounds, grasping and manual dexterity required to hand and/or finger items frequently.
• Clear visual and auditory acuity with or without accommodation.
