Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning, confirmation/preparation of operative site, care of operative specimens and room turnover.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Provide scrub assistance during procedures reflecting knowledge of anatomy, instruments, supplies and asepsis.
• Prepare the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments and sutures based on scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
• Follow policies for scrubbing, gowning, gloving, setting up back table, draping and counting with the circulating nurse.
