Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Perioperative Services team. You will assist in preparing the operating room, perform surgical scrub duties, and help with turnover, under RN supervision.

The role supports world-class surgical procedures at Washington University Medical Center, with opportunities to work with renowned surgeons and modern equipment. Eligible for a $12,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 2 years or military equivalent experience.
• Surgical Technician license/certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
