Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Surgical Services Team. The role involves preparing the operating room, scrubbing in for procedures, and assisting with specimen handling under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED; <2 years or military experience is preferred. A Surgical Technician license is listed among preferred certifications. A generous benefits package and sign-on bonus are offered.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical scrub duties and assists with collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Helps turnover of room and returns supplies, instruments, and equipment to proper locations.

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• 4/10's Hour Shifts
• Hours: 6:30am-5:00pm
• Call: Usually 1-2 weeknight calls and 1 weekend call per 6-week schedule.
• Services: Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Spine service line

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center's Surgical Services department consists of 22 ORs which include three heart team rooms and the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
