Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide perioperative patient care across all ages under RN supervision. You will primarily function as a scrub technologist and may act as a surgical assistant or assist the circulating nurse.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, with military experience or 2 years of clinical surgical technology experience; BCLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology.
• Military experience or two years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties.
• Training and on-the-job experience should enable proficiency within three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care duties perioperatively for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Serves primarily as a scrub technologist.
• Functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse.
