Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care under RN supervision. This role also serves as Birthing Center tech and Unit Secretary, with opportunities to act as a surgical assistant and circulate nurse helper.

Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience is required; no degree is necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, or at least two years of clinical surgical technology experience with no degree.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care duties for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Serves as a Surgical Technologist, Birthing Center tech and Unit Secretary. Provides care preoperatively, perioperatively, and postoperatively within scope of practice and hospital policy and procedures.
• Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse. Performs a variety of organizational, administrative, and communication functions.
