Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required unless exempted by law.
• Graduate of Specialty Training Program.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical protocols, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgeries by coordinating treatments, connecting clinical equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Participate in surgical prep, timeouts, and site verification to ensure safety protocols.
• Manage surgical supplies, verify specimens, and document procedures accurately.
• Handle wound assessments, dressing changes, and specimen collection.
• Follow universal precautions, initiate emergency procedures, and participate in patient admission/discharge.
• Perform billing, on-call duties, and act as a preceptor for students.
• Maintain quality control and perform additional duties like patient transport and post-mortem care.
