Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Jackson, MI seeks a Surgical Tech to facilitate safe, efficient surgeries at our outpatient center. You'll prep and hand instruments, position patients, maintain counts, and support the surgeon throughout procedures.

Requires HS diploma or higher with experience; an associate/technical degree or four years of related experience is acceptable. BLS preferred. Full-time day shift with a sign-on bonus of $7,500.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience.
• Associate's degree or technical degree in related field.
• Alternatively, 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience
• OR Associate's degree/Technical degree
• OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Certification/Licensures Required

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology

Schedule

8 hr shift - 6:30am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday (rotation for coverage of late room until 4:00 pm) (No weekends or holidays) Full-time, Day Shift, 36 hours/week
