Job summary

MetroHealth Medical Center in Northeast Ohio is seeking an Operating Room Technician to support OR services. Responsibilities include performing duties in the operating room, maintaining cleanliness and efficiency, and providing direct patient care across age groups from neonate to geriatric.

The role includes orienting new staff to equipment and procedures and acting as a role model for colleagues. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited School

Qualifications

• High school graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
• Possesses and maintains certification as a surgical technologist (CST) from NBSTSA.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs various duties in the operating room.
• Maintains the cleanliness and efficiency of operating room services.
• Performs limited neonate through geriatric patient care services.
• Orients employees to equipment and procedures.
• Serves as a role model to other operating room technicians and students.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
