• Assist in aseptic preparation and setup for surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and patient safety throughout operations.
• Support postoperative cleanup and room turnover to readiness.

Responsibilities

• After surgery, transfer patients to recovery and restock the OR.
• Pass instruments, sponge and suture to surgeons and assistants.
• Prepare sterile supplies and assist in wound dressings and specimen handling.
• Participate in committees and interdisciplinary teams.
• Help the surgical team with gowning/gloving and aseptic setup.
• Set up instruments, drapes, and equipment; check operation of items.
• Disseminate new knowledge in collaboration with clinicians.
• Label and hand medications to surgeons according to policies.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment with aseptic technique.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with positioning and draping.
• During surgery, pass instruments and supplies, count sponges and needles.
