Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the perioperative team in the Operating Room. The role involves preparing the OR, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with instruments, specimens, and room turnover.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and English proficiency. Preference given to candidates with 1 year of Surgical Tech experience and a postsecondary certificate or associated degree in Surgical

Qualifications

Education: High-School Diploma or GED.
Licensure: Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered.
Experience: 24-Hour-Opportunity locations May consider non-experienced perioperative candidates.
Certifications: BLS required.
English: Must understand English (written and spoken).
Preferred Experience: 1 year as a Surgical Tech.
Preferred Education: Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology.
Preferred Licensure: Surgical Technology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room for procedures and ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile.
Maintain sterile technique and anticipate the surgical team's needs.
Assemble and organize sterile fields, handle instruments and specimens, and assist with room turnover.
Support safe patient positioning and care throughout the operative process.
