Job summary

Oro-Valley-Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgeon and perioperative team in delivering high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with procedures, and ensure instruments and supplies are used appropriately.

Requirements include completing a Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program or an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences, plus BCLS certification and 0–2 years of OR

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and aseptic techniques.
• Strong understanding of sterilization methods and infection prevention practices.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are organized and available.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles surgical instruments and ensures proper sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
