Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program of at least one year duration.
• Certification by the AST, NBSTSA, or similar certifying body required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the primary scrub person during operative procedures.
• Assists the surgeon, anesthesiologist/anesthetist and RN in delivering direct patient care preoperatively and intraoperatively.
• Maintains instrument counts, prepares instruments for terminal sterilization, and ensures sterile technique.
