Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Illinois seeks a Surgical Technician to support the surgical team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will provide the surgeon with proper instrumentation and maintain a safe operating room environment throughout procedures.

Ortho experience is preferred and graduates of a Surgical Technology program are encouraged to apply. BLS/CPR certification is required, and the role emphasizes readiness for emergencies and teamwork with the surgical staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Ortho experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and identifies equipment and supplies for all cases assigned.
• Sets up table, instruments and supplies according to procedure and physician's preference cards.
• Assists in positioning and draping of patient and maintains aseptic technique.
• Maintains counts of instruments, sponges, needles with RN and supports circulating duties when not scrubbed.
