Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the surgical health care team under supervision of the nurse and surgeon. The ST will help ensure a safe operating room, proper equipment function, and adherence to sterile technique and patient safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, current CST certification, CPR, and at least 1 year of scrub and circulation experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist with CPR certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience with scrub and circulation skills.
• Experience with sterile technique and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate, select, use and maintain equipment and supplies for surgical procedure.
• Prepare and maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedure.
• Follow policies for sharps, sponge and instrument counts.
• Assist in transportation, housekeeping and Sterile Processing as assigned.
