Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the operating room, assisting the staff before, during, and after surgery. You will scrub and circulate, handle instruments, and uphold asepsis and infection control standards while training new personnel.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and preferred BLS certification, with a rotating schedule including on-call, weekends, and holidays in Sioux Falls, SD.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program from an accredited school.
• Three years continuous experience in an operating room preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred. Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional staff in providing care for the operative patient before, during and after surgery.
• Provides scrub and circulating duties in the operating room.
• Performs routine and specialized housekeeping activities and maintains asepsis, infection control and medical ethics.
